Growing up, breakfast was certainly not my favourite meal of the day. The idea of eating the same ingredients each morning never made me excited to start my daily routine. However, over the years i’ve switched it up with some delicious drinks that have made me feel healthy & energetic.

Creating your own breakfast drinks puts you in control of your imagination where the sky is the limit – You can pick any fresh or frozen fruit, vegetable, thickener, liquid, & so much more! Unlike restaurant style morning drinks with added sugars & sweeteners, your homemade breakfast drinks allow you to experiment with various elements and blending them all together using ingredients right in your fridge. Here are some of my fun & easy morning drink recipies to brighten up your day.

1. Tripple Berry Smoothie

A classic delight. A smoothie is so much more than blended fruit – it allows you to uniquely grasp the flavours & textures into one delicious and refreshing sip. You can use any of your favourite berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, cranberry etc.) to add your own touch. For a more tropical twist, you can add pineapple, kiwi, passion fruit, or mangos to give the smoothie a little kick. Here is everything you need to make the ultimate triple berry smoothie!

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup of frozen or fresh strawberries
  • 1 Cup of frozen or fresh blueberries/blackberries
  • 1 Cup of frozen or fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 Cups of your favourite milk (regular, almond, cashew etc.) or your favourite juice (orange, apple etc.)
  • 1/2 Cups of greek yogurt (plain, vanilla, or fruit flavoured)

OKAY, I know what you’re thinking – “Really Michelle, this much sugar in the morning?” But trust me, it’s so worth it! I found this recipe on TikTok and have been in love ever since. It is incredibly smooth, refreshing, & the perfect spin on the typical iced coffee drink. Here is everything you need to make the world’s best iced coffee!

  • 1 Tbsp of your go-to ground coffee (mine is Elite)
  • 1 Tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp of Nutella
  • 1/2 Tsp of vanilla (optional)
  • 1 Cup (or more – depending on your blender size) of your favourite milk (regular, almond, cashew etc.)

However, the green drink is filled with healthy nutrients that we all need to bump up our daily routine. Don’t be afraid to be adventurous with your greens & never hesitate to add in additional fruits, herbs, & spices for a tastier component to your morning drink. Here is everything you need to make this heavenly green drink!

  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1 medium ripe avocado (pilled & pitted)
  • 1 Cup of Spinach
  • 1 Cup of Kale
  • 2 Cups of fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp of honey and lemon to taste
